Grief Stewardship is an interactive workshop by Noah Gokul, where participants will learn the concept of grief stewardship and its role in their artistic practice. Participants will receive and conceive ideas for their own stewardship, and experience a performance that embodies grief stewardship using sonic art.

Indentured and Remembered is a platform co-founded by Noah Gokul to share stories, build community, and offer visibility to people with South Asian Indentured Ancestries. Through food, art, and conversation we explore how colonization works to erase our narrative - from Guyana, Fiji, Trinidad, Mauritius, Jamaica, Grenada, Suriname, etc. - and uncover the nuanced, vast, and vibrant story of our roots. Together we will shift from generational trauma towards generational healing, in a practice based on remembrance, pride, kinship, and knowledge.

On August 24th, I&R hosted an event at New Women’s Space which consisted of an educational workshop, facilitated panel discussion, film screenings, performances, indentured story audio archiving, as well as art and food.

Lived Experience Through Creative Process featured artists Noah Gokul and Kim Wichera as they each shared work informed by topics of mental health, psychiatry, and their artistic practices.

Kim's work addresses the transformational processes of mental health and explores the localization of social lines of conflict in the private, and thus the inner. Noah's work has recently centered on the symbolism and resonances of the spiral, through multimedia explorations of their own experience with ‘spiraling’ mentally.
