ReKin is a collective art project initiated in October 2022 by Maii Hamada, Shokoufeh Eftekhar, Moritz Jekat, Noah Gokul, Cihan Çakmak, Gabriel Cautain, Kani Lent, Yuna Lee Pfau, and Bones Tan Jones. It investigates the state of being on the verge of something unknown. ReKin aims to implement an artistic dialogue that deals with Kin, Identity, Community, Culture and the Creation and Production of art itself. We bring together the unknown and using collective creativity to challenge capital focused work ethics and art practices.

The hyper individualism which we had thought to be salvation has now come into question. We want to examine the collective umbilical cord by seeking solutions and experimenting with alternative ideas of unity and kinship. In this, Re-Kin wants to discuss the authorship of a single art work and the surrounding community. Multiple artists of multiple origins creating one work, one kin, one collective authorship. One artist individual of ReKin was offered an exhibition space for their sole work at one of Switzerland biggest commercial oriented Photo fairs "Photo Schweiz".

The 10 artists entered an artistic dialogue together, working on a series of responses to each other's work which blended together and obscured individuality


2023 Jan

ReKin presented their artistic dialogues in a multi-screen installation at "Photo Schweiz 2023" (Zürich, CH) on a space.

ReKin presented the outcome of their dialogue in a VR video installation at ECAL (Lausanne, CH).

2023 June

ReKin was invited to present the outcome of their artistic exchange at "F2 Fotofestival" as part of "Dissecting Globality" at Künstler*innenhaus Dortmund.
